The search was carried out on Tuesday as part of an investigation opened in July 2019. It follows a report from the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATPV) The investigation was entrusted to the brigade for the repression of economic crime (BRDE) of the Paris police prefecture.
Six deputies including Ary Chalus, elected to the National Assembly from 2012 to 2017, and eight senators were suspected of having embezzled, between the end of 2015 and June 2017.
