The German Youth Institute has published a table with recommendations for pocket money for children and young people. For example, primary school children should receive between 1.50 and 2 euros per week, while it is suggested that 12-year-olds should receive up to 23.50 euros per month. According to the German Civil Code (BGB), children under the age of seven are legally incompetent.
