Minister of the Interior of the Nation, Guillermo Francos, said the Government could collect the Income Tax retroactively. He attributed it to a legal loophole left by the former minister Sergio Massa, in the midst of the "Platita plan" that he promoted during his campaign to become president.
"The provinces had a decrease (in collection) and the Government's intention is to restore them," he indicated. In September 2023, the then Minister of Economy and presidential candidate raised the Income tax floor by decree to what is equivalent to 15 SMVM salaries (minimum vital and mobile)
