Mayor of Mar del Plata, Guillermo Montenegro, announced that he is going to declare the essentiality of municipal employees so that they cannot go on strike. Montenegro: "The employers are not a government, they are the neighbors" The announcement comes a little more than a week after the communal chief of General Pueyrredón ordered the day of strike to be discounted for municipal employees who carried out a force measure.

The union had defined this measure of force as a protest against the offer of a 10% increase, considered insufficient given the request that the increase be 35%. "Each of the people who work in the State has an enormous responsibility, which is to provide service to the neighbors, and   this responsibility cannot be stopped by a measure of Force," said Montenegro. The PRO leader and former official of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires focused on the fact that municipal employees have the "obligation" to work and highlighted that, in this case, the employer is not the government, but the neighbors.
