Every minute, one hectare of forest disappears in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This is happening in the Lake Kivu basin, on the border of Rwanda and Uganda.

Although its inhabitants are very poor, this territory is paradoxically rich in natural resources, arousing numerous desires, from armed groups to timber traffickers. Director of the documentary collection "Terres d'Urgence" on Ushuaa TV, Guy Lagache immersed himself in the heart of this forest. The climate issue is, in my eyes, the most important issue for the future of humanity, says Lagache. He calls on the international community to tackle the climate threat posed by deforestation of the planet's second green lung. The documentary collection will be shown on France 2 in 2022.
