A woman and two children under the age of ten were killed on Wednesday April 17 in Macouria, north of Cayenne, in Guyana. The identity of the two children has not yet been determined.
An investigation into an assassination was opened and entrusted to the research section of the Kourou gendarmerie brigade. The alleged perpetrator was released from prison last November after incarceration for acts of violence. He alerted the gendarmes and was evacuated to a Cayenne hospital in particular to undergo surgery. The events took place in a house in this town of 20,000 inhabitants located around thirty kilometers north of Cayenne. It is believed that the alleged perpetrator knew the woman whose identity we have not been able to confirm. He was seriously injured in circumstances which remain to be determined. The case is still under investigation.
