Guzmania is native to South and Central America, from the bromeliaceae family. This plant is grown at home as an indoor plant, in the veranda and in the greenhouse.

It is characterized by evergreen foliage, arranged in a rosette around a floral stalk, made up of bracts ranging from yellow to red, including pink and orange. Grown indoors, this plant can live between three and four years on average. Around a hundred species of guzmania have been recorded to date.
