Economics Minister Habeck has defended his planned heating law. In doing so, his ministry also explains what costs they expect for citizens.

From 2024 onwards, only new heating systems that are powered by 65 percent renewable energies may be installed. This effectively means the end of new gas and oil heating systems – the most common heating method in Germany. The coalition partner FDP expressed concerns about this and asked Habek's ministry 77 questions. The costs for tenants and owners were also specifically addressed.
