Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry, announced his resignation on Monday night. The decision is intended to contain the emergency and appease a country dominated by gangs.

But the permanent upheaval suffered by Haitians has its roots in the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. The lack of legitimacy of the prime minister and social discontent paved the way for the advance of crime and armed groups.
