Hamburg suspends fee regulations for late night flights. Airlines whose planes took off or landed between 11 p.m.
and midnight previously had to pay 500 euros to check whether the flight was unavoidable. If the flights were avoidable, there was a risk of a fine. The airlines Lufthansa and Condor had sued the administrative court against this. The environmental authority responsible for noise protection then decided to hold the companies harmless, thus averting a very likely condemnation of the city.
