Hapag-Lloyd expects profits to continue to decline in 2024. Because of the consequences of the corona pandemic for supply chains, 2022 was the best year in the company's history.
The board of directors therefore expects that earnings before taxes and interest (EBIT) will be in a range of minus 1 to plus 1 billion euros. Meanwhile, the supervisory board prematurely extended the contract of CEO Rolf Habben Jansen. Instead of running until 2027, the contract now runs until the end of March 2029.
