Marie-Do Aeschlimann was elected senator for Hauts-de-Seine on September 24. She had one month to choose one of the two options after the Constitutional Council validated the ballot on March 14.

She could leave her position as deputy to remain a simple municipal councilor of the city of which her husband is mayor. Or remain a regional councilor by giving up your vice-presidency and resigning from the city. “I would remain very present in Asnières because it is the basis of my commitment in politics, but I could not see myself remaining elected without a delegation and not being able to do anything,” says the senator. She does not intend to seek a position within the permanent commission to compensate for the loss of her title of vice-president of the region. She is currently working on the theme of food waste with Arash Derambarsh, deputy mayor of Courbevoie, who is also a member of the Senate.
