For decades, being the child of a college-educated woman has been the element that best predicts a student's educational success. In 10 years, in Spain, this superiority has been reduced to less than half.

The same trend is observed in the OECD as a whole, although not as pronounced. The reduction in the advantage may be related to the increase in university mothers, the precariousness of the jobs they hold, and the persistence of an unequal distribution of tasks domestic, including educational support for offspring.
