A seventy-year-old Welsh woman found a supposed baby hedgehog on the side of a road. After taking care of it one night and seeing that it wasn't eating, she took it to the vet and got a surprise.

The veterinarian was in charge of breaking the news: it was a pompom from a wool hat. "I'm sorry it's just a ball of wool," says the veterinarian, who ended up leaving the hospital room to tell him his discovery. "She was a lady of about sixty or seventy years old, well spoken and with good intentions," says veterinarian Janet Kotze.
