Heard by Brussels on the subject of fallow land, farmers still mobilized. On Tuesday, one of their major demands still found a favorable response in Brussels.

The European Commission finally gave in: the obligation to put 4% of cultivated areas fallow is frozen for a year. Farmers will be able to temporarily grow intermediate or nitrogen-fixing crops on these lands (lentils, peas, etc.) without using phytosanitary products. A way to limit “loss of income”, while preserving a minimum of practices favorable to the environment.
