The Protestant parish of Bad Tölz invited people to a community meeting in the Johanneskirche after the Sunday service. The topic that was on the minds of many churchgoers was not allowed to be discussed: the situation surrounding Dean Soffel.

Dean Florian Gruber: “Since we are in an incomplete process, the conflict and the reasons cannot be discussed” The regional church council made the decision in March after investigations that soffel should continue his service. A “sustained disruption” was cited in a statement as the reason for this decision. The deanery district and the T Ölz parish can no longer be used.. A war of words broke out in the community meeting. Churchgoers dislike the regional church's approach to the conflict surrounding Dean Heinrich Soffels. “If you continue to not be honest, you don’t have to be surprised if more and more people leave,” said Waldemar Teuchert.
