Dachau-Ost's building and planning committee approved an initial preliminary draft that envisages the construction of 83 residential units and a large daycare center. The investor's plan was always clear: to comprehensively restore the old villa and build a residential complex on the previously untouched park.

Five buildings with three to five floors are planned, with one building being intended exclusively for urban and therefore subsidized apartments. A small neighborhood park, as it is called in modern German, is to be created around it, which will be open to as many Dachau residents as possible via new path connections. The developer agreed to these conditions and assured that he wanted to preserve as much of the park as possible and would also build with quality. The city grudgingly agreed to this plan in the summer of 2019, but under conditions. It is still unclear whether the city will operate this new daycare itself or whether the Catholic Church will continue to operate it. The development area is planned via Johann-Ziegler-,Wirsching- and Otto-Straße. According to the city administration, the residential area should be “as car-free as possible”.
