Hope is fading: missing person probably dead after ship accident in Hamburg. Plans are underway to salvage the wreck on Thursday morning.
One person is still missing after divers, emergency services in boats and a police helicopter searched for him unsuccessfully for hours on Wednesday evening. The police assume that the missing person cannot be saved alive. The 80 meter long inland waterway ship “Alster” sank the day before for unknown reasons in the Blumensandhafen in the Wilhelmsburg district.
