Michael B. and his wife Cécile were tried this Thursday for fraud by the criminal court of Versailles (Yvelines) The couple had made the owner of the Château d'Émancé believe that they were going to buy the residence for the tidy sum of 9 million euros.
They are accused of having ransacked the residence and of having resold some of the period furniture that was there, including a Louis XV table for 248,000 euros.
