The port will provide about 2 million meals a day to the residents of the Gaza Strip. About 1,000 troops will sail from their base in Virginia in a fleet of ships designed to provide support for such engineering operations.
The dock will be connected to the Gaza coast by a 550-meter long metal track, with a width that will allow two vehicles to move at the same time. This will also require the transfer of fuel for a local fleet of trucks that will deliver the meals, and finding a body who will be responsible for the distribution.
