Hungary: President Orbán grants pardon to inmate convicted in pedophilia case, opposition calls for his resignation. Thousands of demonstrators gathered this Friday to protest against the presidential pardon granted to a convict involved in a case of sexual violence against minors.

The case dates back to last April. On the occasion of the visit of Pope Francis, the President of the Republic Katalin Novák pardoned around twenty people. Among them was Endre K, deputy director of a children's home, sentenced in 2019 to three years and four months in prison.
