The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir announced yesterday (Monday) his candidate for the position of Police Commissioner - Superintendent Avshalom Peled. If he succeeds in passing the hurdle of the committee for the appointment of senior officials headed by the state, Peled is expected to face quite a few challenges left behind by the outgoing Commissioner, Rav Standing Kobi Shabtai.
Among other things - the shortage of personnel, the sensitive appointment of a commander for the Lahav 443 unit, and the growing increase in violence in Arab society.
