Illinois judge excludes Trump from state's Republican primary. This decision, similar to those of the states of Maine and Colorado, comes as the Supreme Court with a conservative majority must determine whether the actions of Donald Trump during the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 make them ineligible.

Of the thirty states in which ineligibility appeals were filed against Donald Trump, two were successful in Colorado and Maine. Several states are nevertheless waiting for theSupreme Court to rule definitively. The chances of a Supreme Court ruling against the former president are low.
