US President Joe Biden will travel to Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday to meet with police and local officials at the border with Mexico. “He will discuss the urgent need to adopt the Senate's bipartisan agreement on border security,” a US presidential official assured the press on Monday.

The White House announced the trip as an immigration law is debated with his Republican opponents. The meeting will take place at the Texas-Mexico border in Brownsville. It is expected to last about two hours.
