Original edition of the most famous Danish caricature of the Prophet Muhammad sold for 445,000 euros at auction. In 2005, the drawing showing the prophet with a turban in the shape of a bomb provoked the indignation of the ambassadors of Muslim countries in Denmark.
The auction house, Kurt Westergaard original icons, estimated its price between 600,000 and 1 million euros. Other caricatures of the prophet are still up for auction on the site kwicons.fr, with starting prices ranging from 1,000 to 200,000 euro.
