A total of 463 individuals were arrested as part of the “XXL net square” operation coordinated over the last two weeks. The emphasis was placed on several districts known as hubs for drug trafficking, such as Terraillon in Bron or Tonkin in Villeurbanne.

The CRS 83 was deployed in Rillieux-la-Pape, after the burning of a bus in retaliation for a police intervention, and La Duchère, after a new shooting. In total, more than 1,500 offenses were noted and 819 fixed fines issued, particularly on the roads, with 8,800 vehicle checks. State services also checked 52 businesses, five of which were ultimately subject to administrative closure. Among them, the famous Vessière caterer in the Monplaisir district has since reopened its doors, among them the famous French restaurant, Le Monde, which has been closed for more than a decade. The operation was launched in the Rhône to fight against trafficking of drugs.
