The Château du Hénan, in Névez (Finistère), is one of the oldest castles in western Brittany. The owners chose a meticulous restoration which lasted for years.

This exceptional place also has stables, a village hall, a 250m² guest house, a chapel, a boat shed, a 300m² reception room as well as an old linen dryer, with its swimming pool. “The land has more than 2 km of banks and rivers, woods, and we are 500 m from the sea, with views of the river and the sea from the upper floors only,” says David Bilder, from Christie's International Real Estate, the global network of independent brokerage and luxury real estate companies. The castle was designed and redesigned to live there all year round, while retaining its authenticity, says Bilder. It was completely stripped down, stone by stone – in this case Trégunc granite – a bit as if the original castle had been completely rebuilt.
