We hardly see Russian flags in the streets of Niamey anymore. The Russophile frenzy that gripped the capital the day after the military coup on July 26, 2023, has subsided. But if the white, blue and red flag no longer flies on the Place de la Concertation, cooperation between Niger and Russia has been considerably strengthened. Symbol of this renewed partnership: the visit of the Nigerien Prime Minister, Lamine Zeine, to Moscow.
