Protesters are blocking the road to the south, on the day when the temporary order that allows ultra-Orthodox to be exempted from conscription expired. Heavy traffic jams began to form on the spot, and the police are trying to evacuate the protesters from the road without success.
The demonstration follows the High Court's decision to issue a dramatic interim order, prohibiting the government from transferring funds for the purpose of supporting Torah institutions. The petitions against the court's decision will be scheduled for hearing during the month of May, and will be heard before a panel of nine judges.
