Six climbers from the same family were lost in the storm. Five of them were found dead on Sunday evening.

The last one is still being sought by rescue teams. The group, made up of three brothers, the partner of one of them, an uncle and a cousin, left on Saturday morning from the village of Zermatt, located below the emblematic Matterhorn. They had planned to reach Arolla by taking a route well known to ski hikers, a piece of the so-called “ Haute route ”
