Nicolas Maduro officially invested by his party for a third presidential term. Elected in 2013, Nicolas Maduro, 61, was re-elected in 2018 during a vote whose legitimacy more than 60 countries, including the United States and the European Union, did not recognize.

The Supreme Court has already dismissed the main opponents of the presidential election. The United Socialist Party (PSUV), of which he is president, “decided by acclamation, by consensus, that the candidate of the Bolivarian revolution is Nicolas Maduro,” declared the vice-president of the party.
