In Verona a rare astrolabe, the'smartphone' of antiquity. It was used as a smartphone or a laptop ante litteram, to calculate time, distances, track the position of stars and even predict the future through the horoscope.

The discovery is published in the journal Nuncius by historian Federica Gigante of the University of Cambridge in Great Britain. "It is an important testimony to the scientific exchange between Arabs, Jews and Christians over hundreds of years," says Gigante.
