Thanks to new generation techniques for estimating CO2 emissions it will be possible to obtain increasingly accurate environmental forecasts. The data that made it possible to develop these methods, in fact, also come from the Italian 'Ottavio Vittori' climate observatory of Monte Cimone.

Unlike similar previous research, the authors of the study were able to estimate emissions on a regional rather than national or continental scale. Data was collected from observation networks distributed throughout the world: thanks to this integrated approach, emissions estimates are much more accurate.
