Three fishermen set out to sea on Easter Sunday and had to spend several days on a small, uninhabited island in the Pacific. Only thanks to a niece, the US Coast Guard and a few palm fronds did the men return safely after more than a week.

The fishermen, believed to be in their 40s, were traveling from Polowat Atoll in a six-meter-long open boat powered by an outboard motor. They escaped to the nearby small island of Pikelot, which is part of the Federated States of Micronesia. They are said to have lived on coconuts and water from a well. Similar to a man who survived two weeks on the open sea in 2020 and were discovered by an air patrol thanks to the SOS lettering painted on the beach.. Three fishermen find themselves in distress at sea because their boat's engine breaks down. They wait for days on an uninhabiting island. They also explained that their outboardMotor no longer worked.
