Istat said Thursday that its seasonally adjusted industrial-production index increased by 0.1% in February compared to January. The national statistics agency added, however, that its calendar adjusted industrial production index decreased by 3.1%.

It said that the average output between December 2023 and February 2024 fell by0.7% compared to the previous three months. The index is based on an average of all industrial output from January to February each year. It is calculated by subtracting the output from the previous month from the total number of industrial production days in the previous year. In February, the index was 0.9%. In January, it was 1.0%. In February 2013, the average number of production days was 2.1. In January 2012, the number of output days was 3.2. In March 2012, it is 1.2%. In March 2013, it's 1.3%. In April and May, it’s 0.8%. In May and June, it. is 0.7%. In August and September, it will be 0.6%. In October and November, it won’t be. 0.5%.
