Violent repression in Iran of mainly peaceful demonstrations has led to "crimes against humanity," says a report by experts commissioned by the Rights Council. Many of the serious human rights violations in the report “constitute crimes against humanity, in particular murder, imprisonment, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence, persecution, forced disappearances and other inhumane acts,” the experts point out.
The report was published on Friday by the UN Human Rights Council and the Human Rights Watch.
