[HIGHLIGHTS] Iran's threats against Israel: how far can Tehran go in its response?

Iran has threatened to attack Israel if it does not back down from its stance on Syria. Seven people, including two senior officers, were killed in an attack on the Syrian embassy in Tehran.

The attack was carried out by a group of Iranian soldiers known as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) The attack is believed to have been in retaliation for a U.S. drone attack on an Iranian military base in Syria. The U.N. Security Council has condemned the attack as a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
