A mountaineer in his twenties dies in an avalanche in Villard-de-Lans. The victim was with six other climbers, all supervised by a high mountain guide.

An investigation was opened to determine the guide’s potential responsibility. A large part of the Northern Alps is still placed at risk of level 3 (orange), known as “marked”, avalanche, above 1800 meters altitude, until the end of the day this Saturday. The Vercors massif, where the victim was killed, is located in Isère.
