Colombia's Foreign Ministry has had an unusual role in Holy Week. Every day brought a new challenge: from growing tension with Venezuela to angry insults from the Argentine president.

The strategies of Colombian diplomacy varied in each case. With Argentina and Venezuela, Foreign Affairs took the initiative and Petro reacted later on social networks. With Israel, the president had an initial role, coming out in defense of the ceasefire in Gaza established by the UN. And, as if that were not enough, relations with Venezuela reached their point of greatest tension in months.
