The United States has begun airdrops of aid to Gaza, which faces a grave humanitarian crisis after months of war. Three American military planes dropped food on the Gaza Strip, bombed and besieged by the Israeli army, in order to “help civilians affected by the current conflict,” a Pentagon official said.

Joe Biden announced on Friday that the United States would participate for the first time in a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza. The U.S. military official said Saturday that the aid will be delivered over the next few days.
