The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, will be in Paris on Tuesday February 20 and Wednesday February 21 for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. They will discuss in particular the negotiations to obtain a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

This will be the Qatari emir's first state visit to the French capital since his accession to the throne in 2013. Three French people are still held hostage in the Gaza Strip, since the unprecedented attack by Palestinian Hamas on Israel on October 7.
