The withdrawal of cooperation funds from the United Kingdom threatens to reverse the path towards the elimination of the so-called neglected diseases in several African countries. The world was moving at a good pace towards their elimination, but now there is a setback – fueled not by science, but by politics – and they may once again pose a threat to public health.
