Italy: extension of a program aimed at removing their children from mafiosi. Founded in 2012, this program aims to break the cycle of transmission of power from generation to generation.

“This is a historic moment in the fight against the mafia,” welcomed the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio. Since the program's launch, some 150 children have been placed with foster families or communities in secret locations across Italy.. Family Minister Eugenia Roccella said women from mafia clans had an essential role to play in the program.
