Francesco “Sandokan” Schiavone, former head of the most powerful clan of the Neapolitan mafia, decided to collaborate with the Italian justice system against organized crime. He was considered one of the richest and cruelest criminals of Europe when he was arrested in 1998.

He had been sentenced to several life sentences following the “Spartacus” trial of 36 members of the Casalesi clan. Several members of Francesco SchiaVone's family had already decided in the past to collaborators with justice.
