Jackpotting attacks – or the hacking of bank ATMs – have developed in France in recent years. The damage caused by these ATM hacks, which are part of organised crime, can amount to hundreds of thousands of euros.
Three people were arrested and indicted on 12 May for attacks on ATMs. The individuals, aged between 26 and 31, are accused of targeting eleven ATMs in the South-West in recent months. They are suspected of belonging to "an international organization," the Paris prosecutor's office told Le Figaro.
