The population of Israel's capital is growing – almost a million people. About 33% of the city's residents – children, about 29% – are ultra-Orthodox.

Despite the low participation in the labor market, the city is blessed with the large number of immigrants who find a home. 34% of all tourist nights in Israel were in the Holy City, where hotel room occupancy was 55%. Jerusalem is marking 56 years since its liberation from the Jordanians in the Six-Day War.
