TikTok has been accused by a large number of American politicians, Republicans and Democrats alike, of being a propaganda tool for the Chinese government. Several states and the federal government have banned use of the app on official government devices, citing national security risks. If the application continues to be examined by Washington, no federal measures aimed at banning or restricting the social network no longer seem to be considered.
