Jonathann Daval is being tried for slanderous denunciation of his ex-in-laws. He was convicted in 2020 for the murder of his wife Alexia.

He initially admitted to being the author of the murder, before retracting. He is now being sued by the parents of Alexia, their daughter Stéphanie and her husband Grégory Gay. The judgment in this final chapter of this emblematic legal saga was reserved until May 24. “From now on, you will no longer hear from me,” Jonathann said at the end of the hearing. ‘I want to recall the horror we experienced. I have trouble finding the words,’ insisted GréGory Gay, his throat tight.  “We don’t realize the suffering and the difficulties we had to endure all this.” The defense argues that nothing of this trial is nothing, “the money is nothing’.
