Imad al-Adwane was arrested on April 22 at the crossing of the Allenby Bridge between Jordan and the West Bank. He faces up to 15 years in prison if he is found guilty of smuggling.
The 35-year-old had used his diplomatic passport 12 times since February 2022 for various smuggling actions, including weapons, according to a report in the New York Times. He was arrested by the State Security Court in Jordan on May 16, the same day he was handed over to the police.
