Jordan eliminated Iraq from the Asia Cup after the tournament's top scorer was expelled for an unusual celebration. Nizar Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Rashdan sealed the victory in the seventh minute of added time to complete a historic comeback and avoid that the duel was in overtime.

Jordan had taken the lead on the scoreboard thanks to Yazan Al Naimat's shout at the end of the first half. Iraq, which is much higher in the FIFA ranking (63rd against 87th), had managed to turn the game around with goals from Saad Natiq and Aymen Hussein.
